Product Questions

Here is a quick breakdown of our accompaniment options:

Stereo track – An Accompaniment CD or MP3 with instruments only, no vocals. Think of it like a karaoke track for your choir.

Split-track – An Accompaniment CD or MP3 where the instruments play through one channel and the choir vocals play through the other. This allows you or your audio engineer to turn the vocals up or down as needed to support your choir. The recorded solos and narration aren’t part of the track, unless otherwise noted.

Part-dominant tracks – This type of CD or MP3 features separate recordings of each voice part (usually SATB) in which the featured part is significantly louder in the mix than the other parts. For example, an Alto Rehearsal Track would play the alto part at full volume, along with the soprano, tenor, and bass vocals, and the accompanying instruments at a much lower volume. This product is meant to be used for rehearsal purposes to support your choir members in learning their part.

Rehearsal tracks – Another term for “Part Dominant” products, rehearsal tracks usually only include one voice part as opposed to all of them.

Listening or Performance tracks – A CD or MP3 that contains both vocals and instrumentation. Think of this product as a demo of the piece. Audio samples that are available on our website and YouTube page feature these tracks.

P/A or PAS CD – P/A stands for “Performance/Accompaniment” while PAS stands for "Performance/Accompaniment/Split.” The P/A recording is a demonstration recording and a stereo accompaniment recording. The PAS recording includes both of those along with the Split-track accompaniment.

Orchestration – Sheet music (in either physical or digital formats) that includes both the conductor's score and instrumental parts for works that have the option to be accompanied by a live orchestra.

Our accompaniment CDs have track points within each song. These tracks are marked in the music and are at places where you’d likely start and stop in practice. To have smooth playback without skipping between tracks, you’ll need to make sure that your computer’s audio player is set for gapless playback mode. (You can find information online about how to change those settings for your particular computer/player.) If you are still hearing skipping after changing your playback settings and have checked the CD in a different CD player, please contact service@lorenz.com for a replacement CD.

Yes! The price per part is $24.95 and the price per song (including the song's conductor's score) is $69.95. To place your order for the digital items, please email service@lorenz.com with the following:

- Title and composer of the work

- Product code number of the orchestration

- The instrument(s) you would like to order

- The name and billing address for the order

Most custom orders are created within 48 business hours of being placed. Once you’ve paid the invoice (you’ll be emailed a link with payment option) we’ll email the parts within one business day.

We do not offer custom parts orders for orchestrations of individual anthems/octavos. Custom orchestrations are not returnable.

If you do not have a CD player on hand to use, you can access the contents of the CD via computer. Go to the “files” section of your computer, click on the CD name and it will play the contents as needed.

If your computer does not have a disc reader available, you can purchase an external CD drive online that connects to a USB port. They are for sale on most retailer websites such as Amazon, Best Buy, Office Depot, Walmart, etc.

Unfortunately, Adobe stopped supporting Flash in 2020. While the software can still be played within Flash-enabled software and web browsers, a lot of systems don’t support Flash anymore. For browser instructions, support, and more specific information related to your system, please get in touch with your hardware’s manufacturer.

While we have stopped selling and developing products based on Flash, we do still have interactive software options available that are based on other platform technologies.

If you are hearing vocals in your accompaniment tracks, this is most likely because you’ve purchased the Split-Track Accompaniment. With this type of accompaniment, both the vocal parts and instrumental tracks are together, but are routed to two separate channels. To achieve the best results, have your audio engineer adjust the volume on each track or unplug the speaker on your system that is playing the vocal parts, depending on the needs of the choir.
